  Gorgie Road, Edinburgh

  Client

 Dunedin Canmore Housing Association

  Date Completed

2012

  Value

£8 million

  Description

The former brownfield site lies to the south west of Edinburgh City Centre and is located within a high density built up urban area on a major arterial route into the city.

115 residential units are provided within the 1.5 acre site over 5-storeys providing social housing accommodation for Dunedin Canmore.  The plan is largely context-driven and has been carefully considered to ensure maximum density and to deliver best value.

This highly sustainable development has been shortlisted for several awards and is being used as an exemplar project by City of Edinburgh Council for design of a contemporary tenemental solution and integration within an established residential area.

The development continues the Edinburgh tradition of high density residential tenement buildings which strongly define the street edge.
